1.7International Cruise & Excursions, aka ICE, is probably one of the biggest fraud companies out there. They've made it big by scamming people on vacation sales through 'discounted rates' and 'value-adds' that never really materialize for the consumer by way of massive call center operations that are more like boiler room setups that are designed to shake people down for every last cent they can get from them. In recent years they've started going after senior and military leads as the rest of the population seems to have gotten wind of their reputation for being less than truthful. Of course, if shady business dealings and scamming consumers out of their hard earned money doesn't bother you and you are still considering working there, please read on.
ICE is an operational train wreck. Despite their appearance of being a large, successful company, a few weeks on the inside and you’ll be questioning how they haven’t been shut down yet. The owners are very much involved in things they don’t need to be involved in, yet totally hands off in areas they should be involved in. Sales are king in this company, so if you’re not a part of the sales group, you are expendable. Then again, the owners feel that everyone is expendable and make sure to let everyone know it. The disorganization cascades from the top down, leaving the ever changing cast of senior and middle managers to bounce around like pinballs trying to figure out what is going on. Nobody stays very long, except of course for those who are friends and family of the owners and of those, most you wish would leave as they’re completely without the skills needed to perform in their respective positions.
Everyone in this company is treated like first graders from their fake ‘paid time off’ program to the silly internal culture squad that do nothing but make you hate working there just a little bit more. On the upside, they do have some nice amenities on site from a full gym to a restaurant and masseuse.
2.2I worked for ICE (also known as Sears Vacations, Government Vacation Rewards, etc, etc.) for a little over a year. Benefits were not bad, onsite amenities were nice, and my non-managerial coworkers made all the difference when things were rough.
I would not recommend open members of the LGBT (any non-conforming sexual orientation) community seek employment here.
1.7If you'd count yourself politically as proudly within the so-called basket of deplorables, you'll find this company in-line with your core values. A good business model poorly executed due to nepotism, corporate politics, and genuinely deplorable disgusting human beings installed within some management tiers.
