"It dependends what group you wind up working for. Management is very marginal, many constrains as how you do your work. leaves you drained and just not motivated to come in to work."

"Ask at the interview what is the the weekly expectation and if this layout high pressure still exists."

What don't you like about working at Intel?

"The management style. For layout they count devices. The layout depts are sweat shops."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"To stop the device count system. To let people do their jobs and be fair. For example if I inherit a design that contains a big block alrealdy done, my device count for that week is gooing to be high but the following week it is a costum layout block with analog characteristics, that means my device count will go down and you basically get punished in your weekly meetings. Each layout block it unique an d the ammount of time is different for each design. The layout designer should be left alone to perform his or her job and not to constantly be harrased as how many devices did you put down on a given week."
