3.1How Infoblox treats and communicates with potential employees during their recruitment process is outrageous. They are misleading and careless in their dealings and if you don’t protect yourself, you could wind up like me with no job and wondering what happened?
First, they expect you to take a CCAT test even before speaking to the hiring manager to find out if you even want the job. It is 50 questions you need to answer in 15 minutes. It is kind of like an IQ test and has very little to do with actual work experience. It’s kind of demeaning and pointless and easy to fail if you are not used to answering spatial reasoning questions. But for $79 you can buy an online test prep-package and spend some time studying and can pass the test.
They also expect you to give them your references before any job offer is extended. Most companies extend a job offer contingent on a successful background/reference check. At least companies I have worked for. It is more respectful of everyone’s time that way so your references don’t get worn out.
So, I jump through all their hoops, interviews and then they tell me they are going to make me a job offer, and they do. Sounds great, right? But, now all of a sudden the job is now located in Tacoma, Wa. They tell me they “had no idea” this was going to happen. There is no way I can accept the offer.
Later I read about all their hiring plans and “Center of Excellence” they are building In Tacoma. I don’t understand what is going at Infoblox and why I was put through all of this. I guess they thought they could somehow trick me into moving? In any case, the whole situation was a huge disappointment and complete waste of my time. There are so many better organizations out there. Save yourself the drama and look elsewhere.
3.5- currently Infoblox is very profitable thanks to its DNS, DHCP, & IP address management appliance business. They are trying to make inroads into the cloud.
