Overview Indiana State University is a public college located in Terre Haute, Indiana. The university was founded in 1865 as the State Normal School with the purpose of educating teachers. Today, the university serves over 12,000 students each year. Of these students, about 10,000 are undergraduate students and 2,000 are graduate students.
