1.9I don’t think IKO is a terrible company, but the area I worked in was abhorrent and poorly managed. I didn’t feel safe speaking out during my employment, but now that I have been terminated, I have nothing to lose by speaking up.
I began working at IKO in June of 2021 and was terminated in November of 2022. I was excited to work for this company at first, the benefits and pay were great, and the leadership seemed solid. The wind was quickly taken from my sails as the weeks progressed. The training was non-existent; I was sent to another state to shadow and learn from another rep for two days, but I did not receive the company laptop in time for the trip and the rep did not have enough time to teach me anything. I also rode along with the district manager of my territory, and he was completely clueless. He knew nothing about the sales software we were required to use and bragged about how little he cared to learn it. He bragged quite often about not caring to learn many aspects of our jobs, including new processes and programs. He told me and the team I was a part of that he would delete emails if he wasn’t the main person tagged in them and was constantly asking us to resend him emails. I called him many times with questions, and he always redirected me to the rep that worked in the west coast market of our state. She did her job and most of his. I felt bad for her, I could tell how frustrated she was working under someone who did absolutely nothing, did their job for them, and got no credit or compensation for it. I can’t count with my fingers how many times she detected a problem or came up with an idea and he passed it off as his own. Whenever there was a problem, he did not hold a conversation, but rather interrogated you. He would ask me the same questions repeatedly as if the answer would ch
4.2Family owned company consisting of many facilities in US and Canada. Agile and responsive to customer needs. Local plant is well established with good upper management and dedicated workforce.
The pay is in the average to upper range for most positions, and the hours give an OK work/home balance.
4.9I've worked with IKO for the past 6 months. The journey there was very fulfilling as the knowledge gained through application and the support I received from my colleagues were amazing. I would recommend anyone who is driven by safety and their goal is to implement lean production line and sustain it IKO will be a good fit for them.
