They're constantly trying to reinvent themselves in a highly volatile environment. They do change for the sake of change without a clear vision or grasp of a realistic outcome. They're not the IBM most companies expect. They overcommit and underdeliver."

"Profits are not the only thing that matters, the resources are just as vital as the product being delivered."

"I enjoy the projects, they keep one interested and focused. We've also managed to hire good people."

"Be on top of your game, study if you have too. Interviews can be tough, especially in my department."

"Policy, procedure, Big company feel; things sometimes move slowly and you sometimes don't know where to go to get corporate answers."

"I don't know what I would do different, things seem to be running well."

"If you're looking to rise through the ranks, this is a company with a lot of opportunity. If what you want to do is write great software, think about looking elsewhere."

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"For being such a large and profitable software company, IBM isn't very good at building successful software teams. The company is not great at creating the most productive environment in which to write software."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The focus seems to always be upward at IBM rather than downward. The company would be more productive if there was more focus on the value at the bottom of the reporting chain."
