"Since I have been employed at Hyatt, I have felt that the progression of my career, and my wellbeing as a whole, has been prioritized. The work environment has always been professional and light, even in the most busy and demanding times. I have been provided multiple opportunities to grow my career, and have always felt supported by management."
"I worked for Hyatt hotels for many years. My last year was as an opening team member of the Grand Hyatt at SFO. Hyatt is great when it comes to fostering growth and giving you a chance to success. They do pay on the lower side and expect longer hours."
"Pre-opening team, busy fast paced environment with great people!"
What do you like about working at Hyatt Hotels?
"benefits, engagement, people, mission, environment, support, responsiveness of management, guest focus"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"This may not be a dream career, but it's a great job. Management is often taken advantage of, so stay out of the higher ranks unless you want to give up everything else."
What don't you like about working at Hyatt Hotels?
"promotions are often given for the wrong reasons: to get rid of someone, or to reward someone for being a drone. Management is a bit out of touch with what goes on at the ground level."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"More management review, make hiring at all levels more of a team process rather than hiring decisions being left to one individual"
"Hyatt is a company going through some changes from the top down. They are working hard to make things better for everyone."
"Great company to work for with great benefits and with employees who know how to come in every day with a great smile. Everyone is set up for success and is giving the proper tools to do their jobs. Guest satisfaction is key and definitely, that is shown each time."
"Compared to other brands, I find Hyatt to be behind in technology and amenities. The people aspect is awesome and they are great team players, however, they have been there too long and don’t have a clear understanding of what the brand is missing in comparison. I would suggest they make a few changes and bring in some fresh blood and come into 2020."
"Not enough managers and staff to be effective when busy."
"Work Life balance is off. I found the work not to be stimulating enough and I became bored quickly, but it is fine if you don't want to be challenged and prefer more rote tasks."
