"It's not the work that's the challenge. Surviving a 20 year career working for the management HPD is the real challenge."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Yeah, DON'T DO IT. If you do, stay for 5 years and move on to a federal agency. In two years with one of them you'll be making twice the money. DO NOT WASTE YOUR 4 YEAR DEGREE ON THIS AGENCY!"

What don't you like about working at Houston Police Department?

"HPD, stands for Houston Paradox of Double standards. Enough said."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Simply put, HPD isn't run by a chief. He's only a figure head. The department is actually ran by the chief counsel of the city legal department. It's a great place to work if you're up for a career answering to a bunch of 2 bit lawyers."
