"What I loved about being a hostess and bar backing was I got to deal with a lot of different people. It helped me grow with communicating with people the proper way, and handle people's issue's the proper way as well. One thing I did enjoy, is that I did not get the perks of having tips!"
"I liked being a hostess because I love talking to people and standing in the front of the restaurant. It allows you to see everything that is going on, and you know that in a high paced restaurant your work affects everyone else's. I didn't like being a hostess because this job gives me no satisfaction other than talking to new people. I felt like I wasn't really helping people, and I could be doing something else that would make a bigger difference in someone's life as well as my own."
"This job is a wonderful environment to learn to multitask. You need to be able to meet the needs of all of your guests and make sure the rest of the front desk is on point and all on the same page, while also doing the tasks specifically outlined for you. The one con is there are occasions where the customer asks you to do things or fix a situation that are out of your controls or you have coworkers that are not always as dedicated as you are."

What do you like about working at Outback Steakhouse?
"It is not a heavy work load. There is decent music and a good discount on the food."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't do it. DO NOT WORK AT OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE. It is a terrible workplace and you will never feel comfortable there."
What don't you like about working at Outback Steakhouse?
"The employees lie to make themselves look good and get others in trouble if they don't do what they want them to do. My manager stole my $500 smart phone and wouldn't return it to me until after my shift. My general manager clocked me out thirty minutes before I was off. I would never work here on usual circumstances. But I was desperate for the money."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Do not force your employees to slap larceny on you for stolen property. Be just listening to both sides of the story."

"The dedication of the workers - servers, managers, cashiers, dishwashers, everyone"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Relax! Feel free to make mistakes and learn. If you know when the busy season starts, get in their a couple weeks early in order to prepare, especially if you are a server.INVEST IN GOOD SHOES!"
What don't you like about working at Cracker Barrel?
"The training is lacking - the skill trainer I first worked with expected me to know how to do my job before she even trained me"

"Before you evaluate someone, take into consideration their training - give them the mental and physical tools to do their job before making judgements about their work"

"The flexablity of the hours because if I had to change days it usually no problem."

"Hold your head high and tell them what you want and expect from the company."
What don't you like about working at Hampton Inn?
"The manager had 1 special employee that would have great inflouence on him and always got his way of doing things. It was so noticable that the hotel employees would talk about almost all the time."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would have the employees specialize on one specific thing and then help when they were done with there job. It's always good to help other people."
What do you like about working at Cheddar's?
"It's kind of laid-back and it's a pretty easy job to be a host. The only thing is it can be very boring on slow shifts or very stressful if there are issues with servers or managers or something goes wrong."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"I've never gotten a raise and I don't think I can even get one. The only way to make more money is to become a server or a bartender, but when you're underage that's kind of out of the question"
What don't you like about working at Cheddar's?
"The nights that are either too slow and boring or the days when something goes wrong and we're understaffed or something doesn't work."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Be more cautious of where I place servers. Try to cut people strategically. Hire more people that we need."

"My coworkers, for the most part, aren't too bad of people."

"Skip it and apply somewhere else."

"Not only does management have no idea what they are doing, they are all jerks about it."

"Better communication from FOH to BOH to avoid the endless chaos that is our kitchen."

"I get good benefits and the job provides nice perks."

"It's a big acting job if you don't truly have a heart for hospitality."

"Favoritism and inadequate help to grow from job to career."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would warn my employees when business was going to be so slow they cut 50 hours a month from our job, so that the employees can find the supplemental job and income they need to survive."

"Answer the questions truthfully and fully because you are the one that has to live with the dissension."

"I need a place where I am not stagnant and can work in an Office environment."
