What do you like about working at Home Depot?

"I sure enjoyed using my skills, and enjoyed getting paid for them for once. I enjoyed that the harder I worked, the more I could get paid. It fit my personality and leadership type. I made my stores do very well in a short time because of it."

What don't you like about working at Home Depot?

"Management needed to be more honest and back their people. I tried to contact them about coming back and they blackballed me, Not cool - this was my favorite job I ever had. Given an opportunity to work in another area, I could do the same as I did in Tucson. I just needed more products to sell, as roofing was all I had to sell."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I gave a lot to the job and was hung out to dry by my regional manager. There needs to be a better check and balance in the management style."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Unless upper management has changed, I would not consider working for the At Home Services division because you were treated like the red-headed stepchild. You were not made to feel like a part of the regular Home Depot family."

What don't you like about working at Home Depot?

"Upper management did not understand local markets, and turnover was unusually high. It was run as a separate division, and you were not treated like a part of The Home Depot family."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Take the marketing and sales suggestions of the local managers and sales managers seriously."
