What do you like about working at Home Depot?

"I like the supportive managers, competent co-workers, and a lot of pro customers who know how businesses work (and are therefore a little more laid-back and while demanding, are demanding in ways we can fulfill!). The focus on doing the right thing not only for the store but for individuals and the community is amazing, and people seem to stick around - a sign of a good employer. The benefits and pay are actually decent, too (not competitive the way everyone else claims to be)."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Work ethic is something they look for, and so is an ability to learn!"

What don't you like about working at Home Depot?

"They don't have a lot of full-time positions outside the support roles (like special services associates). The floor is staffed by a lot of part-timers, which makes sense when they need a lot of shifting seasonal hours (this is retail, after all), but I really do wish I could have my 'ideal' job with the company, which is working in Outdoor Garden full-time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Good question - I don't know, since I'm relatively new to the company. I'd probably keep going the way he's going. It seems to be working really well on both the business and customer service ends."
