Assistant Superintendent

"I enjoyed working at Highmark, most of the people I worked with are fantastic and fun to work with, of course, there are those who want to make life difficult. I would recommend them to someone who is well established as a Superintendent but will work in the field a lot."

"I interned at HIGHMARK-NY during the summer of 2019. I loved interning there because of the people and the relaxed work environment. Ultimately, I learned that I did not want to go into sales and I wanted to do something more related to healthcare. However, I learned a lot of great lessons while working there that sharpened my problem solving skills and have helped me become better at getting my point across concisely and efficiently to people that may not have as a technical background as someone like myself, that has been studying biomedical engineering for the past 4 years. I found this to be especially helpful because it has made me more personable and overall has made it easier for me to communicate my thoughts to a wide range of individuals."

"The environment and culture is very stressful. Staff are micro-managed by managers who lack leadership abilities and offer little or no support. If you want to keep your physicial and mental health intact run away if you are offered a position. In other words, don’t even consider submitting an application for any job with this company."

"I have worked with highmark health solutions. They have a great growing company. I worked and met a diverse group of people when I was there. They also give you great benefits when there. They offer great health benefits, retirement plans, many gym access to keep you fit and healthy, helpful health tips and so much more! Even though you’re working for them they know how to treat you like you’re apart of the company."

"I've worked with Highmark Inc for over a year and found it to be a great place for women. The analytics team is expanding with the goal of using the power of artificial intelligence in automating mundane tasks by clinicians and improving the healthcare industry's care giving."

"This is a terrible company to work for if you are in to newer technologies. The architects here all have huge ego problems and refuse to take any guidance from people with more experience in the front end stack because of this. Front End Developers stay away from this company."

"This company is a subsidiary of the parent company, Union Bank. They have offered the worst support I have ever seen in 30+ years in the industry. The technology department was understaffed and barely qualified. They have laid off employees every year since 2010 with obvious intentions of cutting to the absolute bare minimum. Many key clients have left and attracting the type of clients they seek is impossible under these circumstances. There is virtually zero support of the operations group."

"Highmark has great benefits. However the introduction of a new CIO has inserted very demoralizing patterns and procedures into the IT organization. The entire IT world walks around thinking there is a target on their back."
