"I like the staff, medical benefits, and ability to work both independently and with others. I like the atmosphere; I like the challenge of teaching."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would tell interviewees to be themselves and really consider whether or not this is the place for them to be. They need to have a strong desire to work with students above all. That needs to be a priority in the interview. Additionally, all the organization, analytical, communicative, and fast-thinking skills with examples need to be brought to the interviewer's attention."

What don't you like about working at East Side Union High School District?

"I don't like all the ambiguity in teachers' jobs. I don't like some of the professional development requirements that don't always seem helpful nor worth the time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would suggest that the the management spend more time in the classroom, so they remember what it is like to be there. It might change their perspective for some of the decisions they make."
