"They do not do what they preach. No upper management to speak of. A nonprofit company? That’s a joke they bought out two other hospitals in the area and now have a monopoly on health care. They bought out most of the doctor's offices and clinics in the area. Most nurses and other staff have left after the takeover doctors have left so the hospital not giving privileges to them or underpaying them. Most of the staff are from travel companies. If you are a traveler then ok but if you are looking for long-term keep looking."

What do you like about working at Hendrick Medical Center?

"Light workload compared to other Labs. Progressive in having a modern work environment, new cafeteria catering to different tastes, new lab building, etc. People count, policies in place and general concern."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Past work history counts more with some people than your current work day in and day out, just beware of this when an incredible accusation is made out of the blue. Very discouraging when trying to get ahead and you believe they are getting to know the real you."

What don't you like about working at Hendrick Medical Center?

"Sloppiness in certain areas brings about an inevitable result - time wasted, double work for very simple problems - location of stickers on blood units for example. This leads to serious issues. At surgery different names to the same patient depending on who you talk to - this has the potential of leading to a disaster for someone in Blood Bank."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Worry less about future plans and clean up simple very fixable issues before they cause harm."
