"I love the HelpDesk workplace environment. I have met many friends at this job who have shared the same interests in technology. Many of these people have also exposed me to new techniques and tools for troubleshooting. I have taken these skills and have grown with them and even passed them on the new employees. The only thing that is ever annoying about this job are the sometimes rude clientele."

"Hard to advance out of the helpdesk position to a higher position in the same company. Other levels of support usually look down on your level of expertise and usually don't help with growth. I like it because it is a great starting point and I learn a lot. I also like to talk to people and this is central to this job."

Help Desk Consultant at MSNBC

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"I worked as a consultant (so the benefits question above in N/A). I did this on the weekends while working during the week fulltime for a start-up company which was ultimately sod to Thomson/Reuters."

What do you like about working at MSNBC?

"It was a glamorous and exiting place to work. I started 2 weeks after they went on the air. At times it was high pressure (as in fixing an anchor's laptop in the studio during a commercial). One time I couldn't get out of there in time and had to spend the entire next segment under the desk (get your mind out of the gutter)."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"No. Sorry. I just know that I had 2 very softball interviews - 1 on the phone and the other at 30 Rock."

What don't you like about working at MSNBC?

"Just a rough schedule for me. Was working a 45 hr week and then 24 hrs for them on the weekend."
