"Havertys skims off the salespeople’s commissions and when someone speaks up they get Fired. This is not an honest company since they also sell recycled furniture to their loyal customers who have been in other customers’ homes. There is a 3-day return policy and exchanges can take up to 12 weeks. The used furniture returned gets put back into stock for the next unknowing customer who thinks they are buying new furniture. A lot of time it's repaired, repainted, and patched up. Rebecca the manager was afraid to stand up for her honest employees since she only cared about moving up in the company. She didn’t understand the meaning of the quote - A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. Few if any opportunities for advancement. All income is commission based relying on the successful delivery of products. Lots of low-quality items are made in China, Vietnam, and the USA. poor deliveries led to lots of cancellations, all commission was lost on cancellations. Company interest in its investors outweighs their concern for employee retainment or customer satisfaction. Havertys does not value hardworking employees. Few to no advancement opportunities. All Employees are considered expendable and easily replaced with inexperienced new hires. Unusually high turnovers at many locations within the company with the sales floor having more salespeople than needed to earn a decent salary. Haverys is long known to be heading in the wrong direction. Certain associates are targeted while others get away with everything especially managers who are moving to other locations to avoid legal actions. The engagement that managers do oftentimes interrupt the sales process rather than enhance it."
