Harvey Industries Employee

"I have worked at Harvey Building Products for over one year. The work is very fast passed and I am empowered to make the decisions necessary to complete my work successfully. My managers are all new and do not have a good understanding of what I do on a daily basis. I work long hours every day in order to get my work done. There is not much opportunity to move up with this company."

"The Real Truth"

What do you like about working at Harvey Industries?

"In March of 2005 I attended my first annual employee meeting. I remember watching and listening to the owners Fred Bigony and Bob Morrison as they spoke about the employees as being Harvey Industries most valuable assets."

What don't you like about working at Harvey Industries?

"Since 2005, Fred Bigony and Bob Morrison have stepped aside and handed over the day to day operations of the company to their sons.Unfortunately the new management regime is stuck in stupid. The manufacturing facility in Dartmouth, MA is run by Bill Correia, who in my opinion is a tyrant and a Harvey good ole boy who believes he is entitled just because has been there for years. He runs the plant with an iron fist and is not open new ideas. The Harvey good ole boy network is personified at the Londonderry, NH manufacturing facility. While Bill Vesey holds the title as Plant Manager, he is nothing more than an over paid production worker. The real Plant Manager is the so called Senior VP named Tom Russell. In my opinion, Tom Russell is nothing more than a drunken over paid parking lot attendant. This little dictator enjoys tormenting his subordinates and he rules with an authoritarian management style. The Engineering Manager Steve Berberian in my opinion is a dope smoking drunk.Steve was recently arrested in the bus terminal parking lot in Londonderry, NH for possession of a controlled substance Pot while on company time. Apparently all was forgiven because Steve had grown up with the owners son who now runs the company. However, other employees are routinely fired for being ten minutes late because of a child care mix up.Is it fair I report. You Decide.Since the owners have stepped aside the company continues to decline with the closing of the Springfield, Ma manufacturing facility. As long as the silver spooned children are allowed to be in charge, this company will continue to go down hill at the expense of the hard working employees that made Harvey Industries what it once was."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Bring back Fred Bigony and Bob Morrison and return to the days when the employee was the most inportant asset of Harvey Industries."

Inventory Process Coordinator

What do you like about working at Harvey Industries?

"The people that you work with are great!! It was a nice place to work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Great place to start in the building material industry. Be honest with them and they will be honest with you."

What don't you like about working at Harvey Industries?

"Nothing really. Like I said it was a great place to work. No problems really. I just needed a management position and I think I deserved it. I was on my way even they said so but I couldn't wait any longer."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Move people up that have been dedicated employees.."
