"I do not care for the culture at Hamilton-Sundstrand and desire to find a position in an established company with a positive and collegial work culture. I receive very little support for my programs and have yet to work in an area I was originally hired for."

"Support your people, communicate better. Minimize the daily brow-beating and attempts at intimidation."

"My suggestions are as follows:-Good and proactive management as with any company."

"Hamilton Sundstrand is an excellent company to work for. Had I not been laid off due to downsizing, I would have been happy to continue my career there for several years to come."

What do you like about working at Hamilton Sundstrand?

"I enjoyed the people I worked with. I worked in ground support engineering, along with 9 other men. There was a nice mix in experience. I was the youngest at 26, but not by much. The other people were very friendly and willing to help in any way they could. The company funded a group to give 20-35 year olds a social network. The compensation was very generous. The work was plentiful as long as the charge numbers were still working."

"Be professional."

What don't you like about working at Hamilton Sundstrand?

"The airline industry's decline while I was there made working harder. While there was still work to be done, airlines cancelled their work orders and prevented me from doing my job."

"The department I worked in was full of extremely intelligent, extremely personable people that were happy to treat the co-ops like full-time engineers. The work was interesting and I felt like I made a difference."

"HS is looking for only the best and brightest; if you land an interview with them be prepared to give multiple examples of incidents where you applied experience and problem solving skills to rectify a mistake or find a solution to a problem."

"As with any large company, there is always a measure of office politics going on. Competition with other departments for money and resources is an unending battle at HS, as with any other business."

"Keep listening to your most experienced staff members, that is the best way to maintain the high quality of your work."

"I worked for Sundstrand before they were acquired by Hamilton Standard a division of United Technologies. Ironically I left United Technologies to join Sundstrand."
