What don't you like about working at Guitar Center?
"The people above manager level, directors etc..., are by-and-large unqualified and/or incompetent. People from different departments approach collaboration as if their dept. has to win, rather than work with others. This creates unnecessary obstruction, argument and the inevitable throwing of someone under the bus when things don't go as planned."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"We need management that understands musicians, should be musicians themselves, which our dept. director is not, and therefore he does not really understand the issues our customers care about or how they think. Management in marketing should also have marketing experience. There are people here who have no real experience or knowledge of the field running the show. This is insane."
"I love my job, but the management is not allowing us the opportunity to grow or apply our skills in the proper way."

"The management and culture have shifted from the Whatever It Takes attitude, to the Get It Done and Fix It Later attitude. I am not given the freedom to perform my tasks at the level to which I am accustomed, and I don't work well when my name is attached to projects and implementations that aren't as I had designed, and subsequently are sub-par."
