"I worked for Abbott as a contractor. It is a great place to start out as an engineer as they provide a strong base for any new engineer to start out on. Their in house train is exceptional and you will learn a lot from you time there as an engineer."

"Applier beware! Abbott Vascular is amid major restructuring, ongoing since 2007. Looming over the campus hangs a localized dark gloomy rain cloud. Employees are stressed by the ever present threat of the next reduction in workforce, trying to keep up with the resulting increased workload and the perceived need to impress management in the hopeless endeavor to save their jobs.Corporate Abbott brought with them the big business zero employee loyalty culture. If you plan to work here, embark knowing you are just a number and as expendable as everyone else, suffer no false illusions of mutual loyalty and you will do fine. The wiser will steer clear and pursue any of the many other opportunities available and save themselves the inevitable trouble!"

"you will love the place if you are totally an unfeeling automaton who supports an environment where you are only as good as your last major success, and that has a very limited shelf life."
