2.8I've worked at Greenway, formerly Vitera Healthcare Solutions, formerly Sage Healthcare, formerly Emdeon, formerly WebMD, formerly Medical Manager since 2013. I came down to Florida to get a jump-start on my career. During new-hire onboarding. we were told that we could move up in the company within a year and that we had opportunities if we worked hard. One year plus later, still stuck in the same department, NO opportunities. Turn-over rate is so high, tools given for learning the software is lacking, to say the least. The first thing Learning and Development advised was to "sound" like you know what you're doing... to a seasoned clinician calling in, they know when you know what you're talking about and when you're blowing smoke. In short, the first 6 months were very rough with each call a new learning experience. This is truly a sink or swim environment. I've seen great people come and go due to the simple fact that management is not in touch with what the people need. I've also seen people leave after the first day of taking phone calls. It's not for everyone All management sees is metrics. How many case closures, first-call resolved, 100% customer surveys. The metrics aren't hard to meet, but their decision-making process is focused on the bottom-line. Their decision to not allow for out-of-department promotions was due to the fact that their metrics would be negatively impacted so what did they do? They froze out-of-department promotions. It is not fair for us that have worked hard to not have the opportunity to move up. Why do we have to pay for the company's shortcomings? Rather than impose a freeze on out-of-department promotions, get to the root of the problem of letting go amazing staff and KEEPING them instead?
I will say that I have learned quite a bit, in terms of the inner workings of a company, mergers and acquisitions, escalations, metrics, SOP's, handle multiple cases and calls at any given time, and a multi-tasking pro.
2.8Greenway Health is a good place to work if work/life balance is important to you. The pay is lower than most places, but you'll be able to leave at 5 or whenever almost every day. Not a bad place to start off your career.
