Submit a Review"What I love most about being a GRA specialist is the versatility that the position provides. You work side by side with a number of interesting individuals and it allows you to work side by side with a number of technical fields. What's not so great about the field is that it's sometimes difficult to find full-time positions as often times you have to convince companies that they need your services because anybody can do it."

What do you like about working at Sturgis Web Services?
"I like the people I worked with, the trust the management had in me to get the job done right the first time, and the way I always felt my opinion was valued and important. I also liked the no dress code part!"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be personable and honest. The management is extremely likable and always has their employees best interests in mind. If you aren't sure of how to do something and can be humble enough to admit it, they are really great about being open to teaching you. They even paid for night classes for me when I expressed an interest in learning about programming!"
What don't you like about working at Sturgis Web Services?
"The job wasn't very flexible with work hours. Being in a creative field and dealing with clients can make projects move different speeds at different times and even when I had absolutely nothing to do at work I was still required to be in my cubicle 40+ hours a week. I also would have to travel on weekends and was required to take 5 am flights home so that I could work a full 8hr day. Also, the building had no windows and very low lighting therefore I found that spending 40 hours a week there did not provoke creativity."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I think they should trust their employees to have their own time-management skills. I would have felt much more satisfied in my position if I had the opportunity to manage my own time and my projects a little more independently. Also, I think they could push the boundaries a little more and be open to trying more new ideas. After about 6 months there I felt as if I knew everything there was to know and I never felt challenged anymore. I would have been more satisfied if I had felt that I was continuing to learn more and had the opportunity to take on new responsibilities."

"There are many people with different abilities (or disabilities), people from all walks of life, the culture of everyone who works for Goodwill is good."

"Be honest about what you want, if they offer you a lower wage than you expect stick to your guns and ask for an equitable amount."
What don't you like about working at Goodwill?
"It is highly confidential and micromanaged. Anyone with a background is not really supported fairly."

"Be open to change, implement strength based policies instead of medical or legal based."

"Everything. Especially the manager. The work was great, the people fun and I would do anything for the manager"

"If you can get in, never leave. Even if you have to stay for less money."

"The pay was low and it was only temporary. Wish I would have stayed."

"Retain good people by paying them enough to live on"

"My boss would let me work and know that I was more than able to complete my task w/out micr managing."

"Expect the unexpected, you never know what is going to go on at sunstone. One day you can be asked to do something you have never done with no guidance."

"It was nice to have freedom but it was like no one cared about the designers and we were disregarded."

"I would tell them to manage a department you have to be aware of whats going on within that department."

"AltiGen is a small startup with excellent opportunities to acquire new skills, but does carry the risk of working for a company with little capital and longevity."

"I was able to utilize a lot of my skills at AltiGen."

"They were funded by VC funding, but lacked the sales to keep the company going strong."

"This position was a few years ago. not long lasting. Due to lack of funding of art department and employee layoffs."
What do you like about working at Cardinal Health?
"I liked the project tasks, the product that the department was creating all graphic materials for. The diverse marketing materials that needed to be created. And the creative marketing team that I worked with in the development process."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Ask detailed questions about the projects and department budgets."
What don't you like about working at Cardinal Health?
"The lack of communication with management. Unaware of corporate decisions being made dealing with employment structure. Being a part of a downsizing of the marketing departments was not easy to deal with while being there in such a short period. There were transitions being made dating months before I was hired. So I just enjoyed my time and work while I was there. Honestly, I would have preferred to have been a contractor instead of an employee if I knew the financial status of the department walking in."
