What do you like about working at Gutman, Mintz, Baker & Sonnenfeldt?

"Great place to get experience in landlord-tenant litigation if you do not have any. You will get hands on experience at housing court because the amount of volume work that comes into the law firm. The work atmosphere was relaxed for the most part."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you really need a job coming out of school and don't care about the money then look the firm will give you the hands on experience you will not get elsewhere. It is very hard to negotiate on pay at this place. 90% of the associates are in housing court Monday-Friday."

What don't you like about working at Gutman, Mintz, Baker & Sonnenfeldt?

"Starting pay for associates was $40,000-$45,000 with no health or dental benefits given to associates. The law firm primarily makes its money in housing court doing non-payments and holdover proceedings so many people get pigeon-holed in this practice."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The law firm should pay for at least a portion of health care for all their attorneys. The law firm should strive to reduce the high turnover rate at this firm by giving associates more opportunities and creating relationships that will lead to the next generation of partners there."
