"Too many meetings with out any positive input or advancement"

"Be precise and to the point and make them short for all the meetings. That way nobody will sleep in the conference room."

"Seek out more opportunities for your employees to grow and help them prepare for them."

"I like the flexibility I have in how I do my job and the freedom I have to make most decisions. My customer is now one of the top 3 customers at the company and as a result my requests for resources to develop new ideas or solve problems are given priority."

"1. Know what you want to do (electrical design Software coding Process engineering) and have a passion about it during the interview process. 2.Draw on personal and family experiences in your interview to show how you've dealt with adversity or solved problems. Our CEO is very big on family and background and likes to know how you will fit in our culture."

What don't you like about working at Gentex?

"The management team tends to pigeon-hole people instead of give them opportunities for growth. We have very high employeed retention but we do not promote from within very often."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Find ways to develop products that we can sell to make ourselves obsolete. If we don't do that, our competion will do it for us. And, when you have ideas, tell us about them. Let us be part of that development."

"I have worked for this company for 8 years. Over the span of those years my values and the companies value began to differ. The company is starting to become a more profit focused company instead of an employee and quality focused company. This has been wearing hard on a lot of the employees, providing an overly stressful work environment. The company is at a turning point and they need to decide the direction they want to go."

"ask what the sales have been over the two years and what has been the biggest challenge to growth for the business."

"The company doesn't have adequate forecasting which causes late deliveries resulting in lost revenues and declining sales over the past 2 years."

"Develop your project planning skills within R&D. Highly recommended enterprise scheduling software such as StageGate would benefit you greatly to ensure resources are available from dept transition to completion."

"You don't want to make the mistake of growing old at Gentex. They preach employee ownership in the company, but the dedication is one sided, in the company's favor. Large part of pay is stock options, which have been valueless for years, plus, if you are laid off, you lose the stock options."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"When you have to layoff a dedicated worker, don't kick them out of the building and don't steal 5 years of stock options from them."
