"Working for a government contractor can be restrictive at times. Stunting of creative thought and solutions."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None at all. GD is a good company to work for."

"I've worked for CSRA/GDIT for 9 years. It's a great company with great benefits, they allowed me to work freely when engineering and implementing solutions. Often coming to me for advance and things we can do better for the organization. However, it was very difficult to move up within the company."

"I no longer work for this company but I enjoyed the freedom to provide instructions on how to conduct research and use databases to your advantage."

"Take a little time to be more understanding of your employees and have their best interest at heart, keep them informed."

"I worked there for 3 years, the employees were great and the work environment is very laid back. The project is new and exciting and long term job security is guaranteed for a defense contractor as large as this company."

"Diversity of work, room to grow, positive team mentality. I have been given some wonderful opportunities for growth including personnel management, business development, and event planning experience that I would not have experienced in an ad agency."

"Provide examples of your success during the interview if given the opportunity. Go in to the interview with as much knowledge about the company as possible."

What don't you like about working at GDIT?

"Bureaucracy of working for a publicly traded government contractor can feel counter-productive to customer service. Additionally, requirements for small business contracts make GDIT less competitive in the current economic climate, especially in the Dayton region."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Let your employees work with autonomy as much as possible, but continue to check in on them regularly before administrative issues become larger problems."

"Enjoy the working on the equipment and the travel to foreign countries."

"I don't have any tips for someone interviewing. You will either have the required background or not."

What don't you like about working at GDIT?

"Too much corporate involvement, they don't understand our function and capabilities."

"The management in my direct chain of command are excellent."

"We're not micro-managed. Are pretty much a self-operating division far removed from corporate culture."

"Ask lots of questions when it comes to other duties as required (you'd be amazed what that may encompass here)."

"No dedicated sick leave, only general leave (and holiday leave). Also, this year, no PPO/HMO option, only HSA's."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Provide all employees with at least 3 dedicated sick leave days annually."
