"Thanks, but no thanks. I took time off from my job (which means that I lost income) to do everything requested of me by the staff at Gazelle Transport. I even went so far as to give "notice of my resignation" to my current employer as requested by the staff at Gazelle Transport. I have no interest in employment with a company that is dishonest by giving empty offers of employment to its applicants. I was told the reason that my "road test" was postponed until the following week (3 weeks ago) was due to a "scheduling conflict". This was obviously a false reason. I have a family that depends on me and I refuse to work for a company that I would not be able to depend on the way that their company would expect to depend on me to keep my end of a commitment. I called twice to simply get an honest reason as to what was really going on. I got no reply to the voicemails that I left, so I withdrew the resignation with my current employer. I refuse to do that to my employer and my family again to (possibly/maybe) begin employment with a company that obviously has absolutely no problem with giving fictitious reasons as to what is really going on with my "Offer of Employment" and "Start Date". I'm quite sure that the staff at Gazelle Transport has other applicants that they can "toy" with by getting them to lose income from taking time off and giving "Notice of Resignation" with their current employers to meet all the requests made from the Gazelle Transport staff just to be told "Sorry, just kidding". I can only imagine as to how much revenue Gazelle Transport wastes on having applicants drug tested, "FIT" tested and administering a D.O.T. physical for no reason at all. I'm also sure that Gazelle Transport has applicants that they can "toy" with that are currently unemployed and they and their families are struggling that will get excited from an "offer of employment" just to be told the same."
"Company is more concerned about what looks good, than actual productivity."
What do you like about working at Gazelle Transportation?
"Pay is great during the boom times, management has no idea how to handle the up and down cycle of oil field work. Their solution is to get you travel to another field, and take work away from the local drivers there."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Do not believe the wages they tell you. Be ready to be told half truths, and to starve during the slow downs that happen in oil production."
What don't you like about working at Gazelle Transportation?
"Micro-management. At the interview, say they want people with integrity, but they allow favorite employees to break all corporate rules with no consequences. Makes for a back-stabbing environment. Seniority means nothing with this company. They over-hire, then give the loads to the new drivers, to spread the wealth."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop the hiring of drivers not needed. Recognize seniority, and take care of the drivers that helped start the region. Need to reign in local king style managers, and keep up with the maintenance of the tractors and trailers. Spec equipment for the fields, not on what looks good."
"the company is growing, but not managing the growth efficiently"
