What don't you like about working at Ford Motor?

"Do not overwork your production supervisor. Let the production supervisor do their job without standing over them. Trust is very important in the relationship between the area manager and the production supervisor. Show more trust when the day is not going very well."

"Without a detailed career path, anyone could get lost within Ford, despite experience."

What do you like about working at Ford Motor?

"The career potential and the benefits for the family. The networking events are excellent, if one has the resources and time available to attend. I enjoyed being part of the Ford Runners club and participating in their events."

What don't you like about working at Ford Motor?

"The incompetence in some levels of management and the harassment that occurs within their manufacturing facilities. Everyone knows about the harassment and they just pass it off as it is just the plant. Grown men who are very well paid screaming curse words, threatening to kill people, and spitting in your face is beyond unacceptable. People should not endure this kind of abuse regardless of skill set. Many highly skilled people shy away from this company due to the verbal abuse in the plants, and the blatant favoritism of certain individuals in their staffing sectors. Unless there are some serious changes, their market share will continue to deteriorate."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Please do not demand that employees need to be highly educated and sophisticated with skills when the management is not. Continuous improvement should be instituted not only with the processes but also with personnel development. Nepotism should not be allowed if it empowers incompetence."
