The only down side to the industry is the hours. I consistently work close to 60 hours a week including nights, holidays, and weekends. The only complaint I have is the restrictions it has on friends and family relationships."

"You get to meet a lot of great people and you get to have quite a bit of creative control over your outlets. However, the hours are long and you must be there to support your team members during the busiest times which are usually weekends and holidays. A fun job for a young professional wanting to get leadership experience however as you mature I would try jumping into something else."

"It was sold out to a new company. They closed the hotel for two years."

"The SDO team was like family. They treated each other with respect, had open discussion, listened and implemented staff ideas."

"Be honest, friendly and cheerfu. This particular property is a family and if you hired it is important to remember this. If you are more comfortable working in a very structured environment then this property may not be for you."

What don't you like about working at Sheraton Desert Oasis?

"There wasn't really anything that I didn't enjoy about working there."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I do not have suggestions for managment other then make sure the staff you promote is being placed into the correct position. Staff with no sales experience should not be placed into a position that has financial sales goals."

"The member's at our club were some of the most generous and kind people I have ever met. Also, the excitement and adrenaline rush involved with managing weddings."

"The members, as always, are most important. It helps to focus on customer relations. Also, the staff of this particular club need employees with marketing experience."

What don't you like about working at ClubCorp?

"Employee partner moral always seemed low. The majority of the staff, especially upper management, were new and inexperienced. Also lacked structure and failed to provide a full job description. Also, there was a lack in communication between departments."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"More communication between management and staff. Pre-plan responsibilities for events, as opposed to basing them on what's needed as it arises. Hold weekly meetings, no matter how busy the club is just so each department can touch base."
