1.6Unprofessional, Shop floor work are very long hours with no sitting available. You have to stand on a hard floor, many without any mats at all. If you are located in the cleanroom, you have to wear a smock, many smells bad from the previous person wearing and sweating in them. If you walk away from your machine for a minute, the leads will yell at you. The leads do not treat you with respect but instead monitor you as if you are doing something wrong. They never have anything nice to say to you. I will say that I have heard rumors that some other shift may be better, but I've not seen it.
3.8With this company 6+ yrs. Typical annual raises only 3%. Since the company has operations in 30 countries and about 200,000 employees there is a lot of "knowledge silos". Customers are always trying to squeeze better pricing from Flex and reducing profit margins which have translated into lower yearly raises and bonuses for its employees. Lots of great and knowledgeable people to work and collaborate. Compensation can be better in general, in my opinion, is on the lower range for any particular job in the Silicon Valley area. For example, some Program Managers and others in technical fields leave Flex to work for Flex's customers for better salaries and benefits (Silcon Valley area).
3.2Great place to work if you're a "Good ole Boy". The machine shop is not very inclusive diverse. Opportunities for advancement are slim and it's difficult to move up again if you're not a "Good ole Boy".
