"I worked at First Tennessee a little over 3 years. Diversity and inclusion was always important there. The flexibility and work/life balance was great, especially when I decided to go back to school. I truly believe that the company's strategic planning for a brighter future is on the right path."

What do you like about working at First Tennessee?

"It is better than standing in the unemployment line. There are lots of great people that I work with. Employee profit sharing program recently introduced is nice."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Have lots of credentials, college degree, network and get to know someone from within HR or upper management."

What don't you like about working at First Tennessee?

"Management has their head stuck in the sand. Planning is non-existent and most IT projects fail miserably due to lack of planning. Most failures have a customer impact and those failures are accepted by management. Internal communications is also non-existent. This company has a history of laying off staff, then hiring from the outside. They never seem to be able to keep quality IT staff very long. While there are many 'long timers', employees are not valued as they should be valued. This is the most political company I have ever worked for or with."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be sincere. Focus on setting realistic goals and achieve them. Hold people accountable. Follow-up on root cause of issues and create action plans. Make IT purchase decisions wisely and consider more than just the 'sticker price' of the solution. Do real ROI calculations. Don't rush projects for your own personal goals to be met. Hold yourselves accountable. Be sincere and ethical. Hire from within. Value your employees as they are your most valuable assets."
