"I have worked for FedEx for 24+ years climbing through the ranks. A good company to work for, busy environment and good pay and benefits. The employees are hard working and management really tries to do a good job. Very busy environment but very rewarding, you work on your own most of the day. Can be working in the elements depending on the job.I would recommend this company for anyone looking for a first time full time job that is willing to work hard for good pay."

"I would suggest some enhancements/improvements to the training program."

District Fleet Maintenance Manager

What do you like about working at FedEx?

"FedEx was a good stable company. They do a very good job of watching expenses, and giving stock holder value. They look for ways to improve what they do in all departments and areas, and for the most part, they have good management in place."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Take a hard look at your direct manager or boss that you will report to. If you don't have a good warm fuzzy feeling about them, and how you will work together as a team, look elsewhere. If the person you are interviewing with has a few years with the company, be sure to ask them about their boss or manager and how they work together and support each other to achieve goals."

What don't you like about working at FedEx?

"I really liked it all, but had a bad experience with my direct boss (manager) who did not handle some affairs as he should have for me, and cost me some on the job heartaches and long hours."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I left FedEx and moved on to another opportunity. I think this was a shame, as people don't leave companies, they leave managers. If I had the opportunity to do it over, I would have looked for another way or path."

"Not a bad place to work."

What do you like about working at FedEx?

"The benefits were the best part."

What don't you like about working at FedEx?

"Even though it was a part time job they wanted you to make it the main priority. Even over your full time job."

Senior Center Manager

"Good Company, but make sure your eyes are wide open first."

What do you like about working at FedEx?

"Fed Ex Kinko's was a good place, but keep in mind that no matter how good your numbers are, they can be difficult to work with once you get past the Store Manager level. They don't listen to their employees after a certain level, they just tell you and that is that."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It is not just enough to research this company. You need to talk to other people who are at or above the level you are expecting to come in at. Ask the tough questions, not just the standard ones. Be ready for a lot of hours, 70+ per week at times."

What don't you like about working at FedEx?

"They will spend a lot of time saying Good Job, but behind your back, they play politics and they don't care who gets hurt in the process."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Take the time to really listen to your employees, don't just send out a survey and expect them to be honest about their feelings. There is too much intimidation involved and nobody truly believes that the surveys are confidential."

Equipment Services Project Manager

"On a scale of 10, FedexOffice gets a 4.5-5."

What do you like about working at FedEx?

"The support from the Fedex Reps. The many products and services offered."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Try to work at the center with the most people. You may have more competition for promotion but you will never have to be worried about getting time off."

What don't you like about working at FedEx?

"Did not like being passed over because I did my job too well. It appeared as though they could not find someone with my range of skills hence I remained in the same position, and new hires got the management positions with no previous industry experience. Working with a short staff often.I believe in having a full hour lunch. The biggest insult I have ever received, a 5 cents raise."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Promote from within. Hire individuals with some kind of printing or graphics background. Stop running your centers with a short staff. This should help with employee turnover. You get what you pay for, raises should be at lease 1 dollar. Bring back the training centers,"

Store Manager

"It was a great place to work."

What do you like about working at FedEx?

"The opportunity for night manager."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Maintain a professional attitude and good customer relations."

What don't you like about working at FedEx?

"I cannot think of anything really bad."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Prioritize for a fast paced deadline oriented job."

Dangerous Goods Agent

What do you like about working at FedEx?

"I loved that you start from the bottom of the food chain and work your way up!! And moving upward wasn't a false hope, I actually achieved it myself and was tickled pink to be given new opportunities and new tasks to learn!! I like having personal responsibilities on the job and proving them mostly to myself, but also to my management and co-workers.."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not be satisfied with the bottom row. I know they say that the grains and oats are good for you and you need the most of them but the pyramid would not be complete without the peak!! And a lot of the things up there are pretty tasty so aim for that!! Put your name in for every opportunity that comes your way. Even if you feel it is hopeless, you never know for sure and if you don't put your name in that bucket someone else might get the winning lottery amount that was rightfully yours."

What don't you like about working at FedEx?

"The only problem I had at FedEx was a disgruntled co-worker who was not even a part of my team that caused a fuss at one time. I do not like being falsely accused; however FedEx handled the incident with utmost delicacy and although the issue was unfortunately not resolved until I left the company (moved), I feel it could not have been a better proof of the company's concern with each employee personally.."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep in mind that there is always a man/woman above you. You will not be the big cheese unless you start a company yourself and even then there is red-tape to answer to. Don't pretend to have more authority than you are given, that is abusing what you have been given responsibility over and you will be penalized for it. And employees know when you're playing King when really you're only a Prince and they will lose a lot of their respect for you as a person and especially for that Princely crown you wear."

FedEx Employee

"FedEx as a company is a better employer that provides flexibility and opportunity for employees to develop a career and move up within the company as permitted. The company provides student reimbursement for classes taken toward either two year or four year college in accredited institution."
