Special Agent in Charge

"Recently retired after 29 years with the FDIC, 20 of those as a Special Agent with the Office of Inspector General. Excellent pay, excellent benefits, rewarding criminal cases, frequent travel, generous training budget, 401K and TSP matching contributions, upper management has been hit or miss, but work your cases and make good decisions and be rewarded with a good pension and a healthy retirement fund."

"The FDIC offers excellent benefits and competitive salary. The work is often tedious, and the travel burden is difficult to manage depending on your lifestyle and personal priorities. Learning opportunities are plentiful if you are interested in the fields of finance, accounting, real estate, and banking."

"Great work if you are an unmotivated lazy slob waiting for retirement. Punch in at 6 am, leave at 3PM and head out for the early bird special never worrying about accountability or actual performance. At the end of the day if the corporation is unsuccessful at actually being cost efficient or at holding anyone responsible for blowing up the US economy, they'll just raise insurance rates pat themselves on the back for a job well done and wait for the next crisis."

"I've worked for FDIC for 4 years and it has afforded me so many opportunities within the corporation that I have taken full advantage of. It saddens me that our location will be closing in April 2014 but we knew that as the economy got better the need for the office would decrease. I have worked with some great people and had the opportunity to travel to different places around our nation."
