"Facilities Engineering is diverse, I have worked on every part of the industrial buildings from: parking lots, roofs, flooring, HVAC, process waters, electrical, etc. I have had the opportunity to learn about every aspect of the industrial building. Unfortunately, Facilities Engineering is not considered a highly technical field and we are often thought of as glorified plumbers and the pay is usually quite lower than design engineers, for instance."
"I love the opportunity to learn new equipment. It is a challenging position because of the amount of problems that occur. Take them one at a time and all will work out!"

"Don't read too much in to interviews. They are not representative of the working mentality and environment at the company."

"Hold people accountable, instead of victimizing people until they leave.Do something about the work environment and promote equality.High turnover of engineering staff results in poor support groups such as facilities etc."

What do you like about working at Oxy?
"Variety of facilities projects and some good senior staff who provide support and guidance."

"Know your subjects as an engineer and don't expct much team support from experienced engineers. The good ones have left."
What don't you like about working at Oxy?
"Unprofessional attitudes, work place victimization and hostility, lack of accountability among certain staff, low pay, high employee turnover, very negative company reputation."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Tackle work environment and prejudices to promote equality and support among staff. Attitude that the company wishes to be the employee of choice is not consistent with work place conduct."
What do you like about working at La-Z-Boy?
"The people and challenge. I support all North American sites and one in Mexico. I'm called in when equipment is down."

"La-Z-Boy is a good company and provides a good environment."

"Lack of opportunities for advancement. Furniture demand is cyclical. When economy is slow, we are as well."

"Continue to develop and implement processes to gain increased market share and reduce product cost."

"I liked working with the company because they take very good care of their employees and are widely known within the community for community involvement."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"You must show that you are interested in the overall success in whatever position it is that you apply for. They are a great overall company; however, you need to be self driven as well to be successful."
What don't you like about working at Watco Companies?
"The only thing that I could think of for this, is through a know people who know people basis, in which a person was hired to work within our group because he knew people. The only thing is, when the kid came to work, he had no clue ever on what he was supposed to do and constantly had to be reminded of his job duties."

"Keep doing the things that you are doing! Your company continues to grow and get bigger and it's very nice to see such hard work pay off for such a great group! Keep up the good work!!"

"The people and the fast pace make going to work less like work.."

"Under promise and over deliver - be honest. If you get a job you will have to live up to the resume."
