What do you like about working at Exel Logistics?

"I enjoyed the people I worked with. I had a nice group around me who were willing to help me out whenever needed. Some more than others, but it was a good handful of us that meshed very well. Also, the associates were great too. They loved sharing their opinions on a lot of things and most of it were things they thought we could improve on in order to keep the associates happy."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared to work. The manufacturing business is not easy and involves you being really involved in the daily processes in order for the things to work out. Other than that it can be a great opportunity for one to learn."

What don't you like about working at Exel Logistics?

"Management. Our GM was good but everyone else could have improved on their people skills. My operations manager never gave me a review to help me gauge how well I was doing at the job. Most of the time my operations manager never spoke to me unless they needed something. Also, I didnt feel like the HR Manager worked with the supervisors very well. It seemed like they didnt want to associate with any of the employees on the floor in which whenever they had a question for them, they would just send the associate to us instead of just answering their questions. Finally, I felt outcasted since I was the youngest supervisor in my building. Now I'm a strong individual and can handle a lot of things but when people expect so much more out of you because you're so much younger I find that a little unfair. For example, whenever we had meeting for process improvement ideas my ideas were always shot down. It's as if I didn't earn enough time in that building to have an opinion"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Treat your supervisors & associates better. They're the ones who are putting in the hard work on the floor, especially the floor associates. They're not just numbers, they're people too who are just trying to make a living. Most of the time I felt like we only cared about getting our numbers completed more than appreciating the hardwork these workers put in."
