"Evraz is a heavy industry. Formerly Oregon Steel Mills, they make large steel pipe and rolled plate. The company is filled with very good, hard-working people. They have 6 North American sites with roughly 7000 employees. Safety is their #1 priority due to the dangerous nature of their work. Unfortunately, they have lagged in investing in new technologies and as a result are not as effective as they would like to be. I have worked at Evraz since late 2019 and have truly enjoyed the challenges and the people. The plunge in oil, gas, and US manufacturing has been devastating to this company. This is a boom or bust business that does not fit my significant technology background or aspirations."

"Very volatile business that is dependent on oil industry, railroads and construction. Market fluctuations including tariffs change working environment quickly. Management team is not concerned with workforce, and as a result worker morale is negative."

"When you don't have a network, you won't be advanced in the company. people with no connection won't have any security when it comes to lay off or reduce the workforce."

"I worked at EVRAZNA's Portland Oregon pipe mill for about 6 months and found the work to be slow and boring. When everything was running it was engaging but due to frequent equipment failures even in other areas of the mill production often slowed or stopped."

"I have worked with Evraz on several occasions. The company presents a very friendly and open minded work environment. The compensation is very fair and the company is very willing to reward those that go the extra mile to get their job done. However, as this is a steel mill, do not expect comfortable workplace conditions. Sometimes, after-hours work is expected in order to achieve deadlines."
