"Good for a first job. Issues with lack of respect for employee well-being (and individuality) from the top level of management. Teaches you skills that you can apply to you next job."
"I've worked for Epic for the last three months now and believe they are an amazing company with a fantastic product. I'm choosing to leave the company simply because this is not the career path that I would like to go down. I would still highly recommend them to other people."
"I've worked for Epic since last September. Epic is a great company where software developers can add expertise to their skillsets. The work ethic at epic is great and there are many opportunities to work on various projects. People at Epic are very cooperative and we work with a passion to improve the medical care for patients. In addition, we have strong commitments to make our users happy using our software."
"I worked for Epic as a technical solutions engineer since 2018. They have an extremely strong culture of collaboraton between employees at all levels and are committed to creating the best EHR software in the world. My only complaints are that they use an extremely old language, which in their defense is still the most effective way to handle the mountains of data involved."
"I've worked at Epic for 6 months and it is a very high-stress environment that subjects you to a steep learning curve. You quickly become assigned to customers and must provide solutions to the customer in a timely and efficient manner. Communication and organizational skills are an absolute necessity."
"Great benefits at the cost of work-life balance due to the lack of activities and communities in the Madison area. It quickly becomes a very work-central zone and for some the travel is their only bliss and it makes one wonder why they are at an area where their only bliss is outside of the it."
"I started at Epic in June of 2013 and stayed there 1 year. I can see people really loving Epic, but you can also be in my situation where you don't like it as much. Long hours are usually demanded of you, but the company culture is young and there are lots of benefits and compensation. If you love what you will be doing (mostly code maintenance) you will love working at Epic."
"Very nice place to work at. Awesome benefits, great campus, great attitude, industry leader."
"I've worked for Epic for almost seven years and definitely believe in the work they do and enjoy testing software."
"Great environment to work."
"Hired to work in position that was very different from the position that I ended up doing starting my first day. Also, office location was different than what I was promised after I moved and bought a house close to HQ.You have to work 50-60 hours a week to be middle of the pack. It wasn't a bad job, but I didn't like how it was run. You have to really burn yourself out to be successful there. Also, they often let people go before they can use sabbatical and make them sign an NDA/provide severance."
"Epic is truly what you make of it. There is no singular experience since so much depends on you, and those you are placed with. Work hard, and hope that you are placed with people that encourage you to grow as an employee and a person and you will have a job that you love."
"Epic utilizes old software languages to provide a much needed service. Overwork, lack of innovation, and frustrating customer relationships mar what otherwise has the potential to be an excellent work environment."
