What do you like about working at El Cajon Superior Court?

"I use to enjoy the challenge of meeting deadlines, but lately we've become so short-staffed that the work keeps piling and piling no matter how hard we work. My co-workers used to be the shining point of each day, but morale is so low that everyone is bitter and lifeless."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Many benefits, good pay, excellent job... when we're not in a budget crisis. The first few years I worked here I was on top of my game and very positive, always smiling. After 5 years I've become a zombie. I unfortunately am stuck and cannot just walk away from this job because I'm trying to pay off bills and save for the future, as well as handle my medical problems. Good job, better than most, but do your best to hold on to your innner light, because this plac can snuff it out quickly."

What don't you like about working at El Cajon Superior Court?

"Working with the public day in and day out is completely exhausting. There is no light at the end of the tunnel, all the work we do is only barelt enough to keep our nose above the water. I'm standing for 5 hours straight helping people by telling them the same schtick over and over again, and as you can imagine most of them are very grump with very negative energy. My body and mind are weary, and all my time away from work is spent recuperating. I feel hopeless here with no motivation."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire more people, do more to boost morale... be more understanding that the current workload is more than the current staff can handle."
