10 Division Managers from Earl Scheib submitted salaries.
Earl Scheib, Inc was an auto painting and auto body repair company that operated between 1937 and 2010. The company was founded by Earl Scheib and headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
Earl Scheib, Inc was famous for its one-day turnaround on paint jobs, which only cost $29.95. The pricing and one-day service flew in the face of professional standards for auto detailing and became synonymous with shoddy work. Nonetheless, the company expanded into retail operations in 23 states. In 1987, the company generated revenues of $69 million.
For the next decade after that, however, the company struggled. The year before its founder died, the company reported a $1.9 million loss on gross sales that were less than $10 million. In subsequent years, the company changed hands twice. In 2009, the private equity firm Kelly Capital LLC acquired the corporation. When Earl Scheib, Inc finally went bankrupt in 2009, the company gave managers of its various retail outlets the option of buying its equipment and going into business for themselves.
At the height of operations, Earl Scheib, Inc had over 200 stores and nearly 1,500 employees. Employees were auto repair and painting specialists, sales staff and managers. Employee turnover was a major problem for the corporation. Technicians simply could not keep up the pace of painting up to five cars per day. Sales staff and managers knew little about auto body repair or painting, and so were unable to make realistic projections that would meet customer deadlines.
Division Manager is the highest paying job at Earl Scheib at $74,000 annually.
