"It was a rewarding opportunity to work in Doughlas County and teach"
What do you like about working at Douglas County School District?
"I don't work there and haven't since December 1998"
"Administrative departments are working hard to serve the students in the school district, yet conflicting priorities and inconsistent leadership can lead to ineffectiveness. While there are many talented professionals on board, roles are not always clearly defined, leading to doubled efforts in some areas, and no attention in other areas."
"I have worked in the Douglas County School System for several years and feel like the things that lack are the communication and opportunity to advance my career. The work schedule and pay are far better than many other places, especially in the corporate world, but it is often difficult to complete some of the work due to micromanagement."
"DCSD is a wonderful organization. The IT organization and opportunities are outstanding. Looking forward to making a difference for the good of service and support of the organization."
"Douglas County School District is on the path to implement exciting cutting-edge technologies which will ultimately benefit the students, faculty, and parents. The IT department is full of pleasant hard working professionals. However, outside of the men and women who work hard to keep the IT infrastructure afloat, it is universal, whether the director, manager, or supervisor is internal or external, collaboration is tedious, and a consensus is hardly ever achieved. Unfortunately, even as an IT professional, you cannot help but get mired by the politics."
"DCSD Provided a flexible work arrangement and a team that felt like family. Opportunities for cross-training and professional development were ample. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5, because a change in the board led to the revision of their policy for remote work (i.e., no longer offered)."
"Good place to work! Kids sometimes don’t behave but they will eventually."
