"Dominion has been fairly good to me."

What do you like about working at Dominion Enterprises?

"I like the people I work with, and some of the more recent projects we work on."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The Dev team is big on OO, so make sure that you can hold you own in a technical conversation"

What don't you like about working at Dominion Enterprises?

"The pay is rather below the industry average for the area.We spend a lot of time retro fitting new technolofgies into legacy code which has led to q good deal of spaghettI code. Our main product is an amalgamation of three different frameworks, two of which are home grown and outdated. Our marching orders come from a business unit that has no concept of the technical requirements of what they ask and they set unrealistic deadlines. for example, we had to migrate from Oracle to MySQL/SOLR in under two months, over the Christmas holiday season. (which went surprisingly well thanks to 60 hour work weeks)"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Push back on the business unit when they set deadlines that are unrealistic. It is understood that things need to happen fast, but they also need to happen right."
