"Payroll was being constantly late. Upper management did not work well with the people in the field"

"My suggestion would be that they talk to the people in the field more to better grasp what they needed to do the job."

"The waste industry gets into your blood: you like it or you don`t. You get to meet the most incredible people on a daily basis."

"If going for a management position, understand that regardless of what you are told, an 11 hour day is the norm."

"Focus on doing more with less, to the point that expectations/demands from corporate are unrealistic in the least and fantasy at the most."

"Treat people as people, not cogs in the machine. Understand that motivation by fear is not the best solution."

"The people and the managers are great and easy to get along with. The products are best in class solutions."

"Be able to answer several different questions at one time while switching rapidly back and forth between questions."

"The opportunities for advancement are very limited. There are many people who are institutions, and those people get all the opportunities."

"Spread your time out evenly through your teams. Don't concentrate on any one or two people."

"The perceived degree of autonomy I had in building a new store, and building a new market."

"The benefits of working for a small company comes at a cost in other areas. They are good people at heart though, and the owner is great."

"The micro management and aggressive personality of my direct supervisor. His insecurity caused a serious rift between us."

"Company is so large that sometimes regognition of work is non-exsistant"

"Better communication with the DM's from the VP's and Presidents. Need a closer relationship to better understand goals"

"You will do most of your training by yourself. Not a lot of communication or direction at this company so you need to be on your feet always"

"Stay on employees a bit more in relation to tasks at hand."

"Don't have any tips. This company is practically out of business now."

"Theft. I managed jewelry stores and there was a lot of theft in the malls."

"Keep stocks to a minimum to deter theft. Often there was too much merchandise in the cases and it was easy to break into them."
