Distinguished Engineer at Edwards Lifesciences

What don't you like about working at Edwards Lifesciences?

"My project (Glucose Sensor) was cut significantly by a partnering agreement with an outside company. The Director, who did not hire me, cut me completely out of the loop with the external company, and my project was starved. The final straw was my manager (I believe being manipulated) made a statement in my review that essentially accused me, without my ability or opportunity to respond or face the real accusations, of some type of possible illegal behavior. This was completely unacceptable to me, and in violation of company policies as a whole of respecting employees rights and contributions. So I chose to leave the company."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Follow their policies written policies and their Mission Statements. If someone is accused of some activity in their review of something illegal or possibly illegal, the employee should have a right to face their accusers, or even what the substance of the accusation is, rather than just putting such a statement in a review. At the minimum, such a statement was slanderous. I was so insulted that the company would allow this behavior that I could not stay with the company. My dignity was violated, my rights as an employee were probably violated, and HR turned a blind eye."
