"I have worked for DirecTV since 2010, originally as a studio operations contractor and later in 2013 as a full-time software developer. I stayed on during the acquisition of the company by AT&T and continued to provide support for our entertainment products. While I may have disagreed with a number of the changes being acquired brought, one thing that remained constant was the sense of unity and familiarity with the people I worked with day-to-day."
"Very professional and encouraging atmosphere. Need a good leadership team to achieve new levels in the market"
"Awesome is word for DirecTV."
"I have worked in DTV EDS for 10 months. This is a newly established engineering unit within DTV. It has been a very diverse working environment. It does not have a unified working process, and everything is depended on the project Tech Lead."
"Worked as a contractor for Directv for a few years, was offered 4 different full time positions however at this time I prefer to stay contracted with them."
"I've worked with Directv since 2003. I have seen the company grow at an incredible fast pace. This has made me a self starter from day one."
"Directv is a great place to work! I have met great people and have learned many skills from all of my colleagues."
"Great energy at DirecTV. As Senior Technical Program Manager, DirecTV will provide you with the with leading technical, cross-functional projects in order to launch exciting new features on the big screen, mobile devices, and the web for millions of customers to enjoy."
"I enjoy working at my company. Staff are nice, and working environment is too."
"Great products and projects with lots of talented people! Unfortunately the culture, management, and available tools make accomplishing work much harder than it needs to be. If you like a "sink or swim" environment with very little supervision - this is your company."
"Excellent organization and the leader in the industry."
"Good to work. Nice place to start."
"I worked at Directv for 2 years as a contracting software test engineer. The work environment was stress free. The work attire was casual and the management did not micro-manage, as long as you put in your 1-3 problem reports daily. However, if a "show-stopper" was missed when National code rolled out then someone usually got chewed, sometimes were fired. Over-time was not mandatory and we were able to work whatever hours on the weekends. Over-all I enjoyed my time at DirecTV."
"I've worked for DirecTV - it's an okay company, but there's no room for growth. I'm not sure what else to say except that the company is fair, but there are too many older employees who just stay where they're at."
"I've joined the IT Business Analyst department in the summer of 2013. The work environment was great such that resources were there and co-workers were helpful. However, the management in that department failed to motivate the department towards a similar goal. They allowed the department to make the same mistakes over and over, leading to inefficiency in the work place."
