"When the economy is good, educational opportunities were excellent. With a tightened economy, continuing education has become limited in scope and focus."

"Understand clearly what your objectives are in going to work for EY. It is a wonderful place when objectives between employee and the firm match. However, I have seen many people become frustrated when it was time to move on."

"Lack of leadership support, location specific focus while most of the workforce is virtual."

What do you like about working at Knight Ridder?
"I came in as a newbie, in less than six weeks, I was given total reign of systems, networking, remote locations, etc. They recognized my talents immediately and gave me any and all resources to bring them up to speed. Including Y2K issues, proofing, workflow, on and on. They stepped back, I reported to a tree, as they experienced the results of 20+ plus year leap in technology implementation. They were great folks, Tony and Par - his son were personally involved, communicated with me directly at times and made me feel like a million bucks! My motivation was simple, they recognized my talents and fed my need to be challenged"

"Be yourself - the HR folks are professionals, they will provide a wonderful interview experience! Even If your unsure of your talents - they will help you identify them! They are trained to make the process painless..."
What don't you like about working at Knight Ridder?
"Walking a 27 year employee out of the gates after being fired. He was given a pin and party for his contributions, then I was walking him out the door one year later. It hurt me in ways I was unable to deal with and/or understand - I left a few months later, leaving a 28k bonus behind..."

"If a peer is knocked off the deck without explanation, we are all living in fear..."

"Just be upfront with your goals, and management style."

"There weren't many things I didn't like, but if I have to pick one, the budget approval process took longer tha I wanted."

"There are great people and the company produces excellent products and services...fitting for a fortune 500 and FINTEC 1 company."

"Get to know the people and culture during your interview and remember that the interview is just as much for you as it is for the employer. Keep your political tact but don't shy away from asking tuff questions either."

"Serious growth potential requires relocation to Brookfield, WI which I am not open to at this point in time."

"I would have to give that more thought to provide a quality answer. The management team runs a good shop so I don't have any critical comments to tender."

"I lead a group of highly motivated engineers in the qualification of $169 Million of new equipment and 18 new products for aerospace applications"
