"Helping employees grow professionally is great fun, as is solving a complex problem for a customer. Not being able to find the right person for a project is both time consuming and stressful."
What do you like about working at Allscripts?
"Work with a great group of people and have a nice paycheck."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Carefully consider the team you will be working with. Ask many questions about the internal projects going on, and if NEXUS is still going on, stay away."
What don't you like about working at Allscripts?
"The CEO has been with the company 15+ years and while the revenue has grown from 80M to 1.4B during that time, very little if any of that growth was organic. Allscripts has been a merge-to-grow model for years, and now that we have acquired about everything that could possibly fit within the portfolio, revenue is dropping because the only leaders left are the CEO cronies that frankly have little experience on actually growing a company organically."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would replace multiple members of the executive staff. I would also work on building a better and more collaborative internal culture. Internally, a transfer pricing policy with be put in place, and cost center cost sharing would be instituted. I would also add incentives to increase interdepartmental sharing of resources, knowledge and people. Finally I would tear down the virtual business unit silos and would change how development releases new produce - no more throwing new releases over the wall."

"only work in SaaS groups since that is where their main focus is"

"It got too big now from acquiring different types of companies"

"let the individual product groups work autonomously to make them profitable"

"Keep a positive/professional attitude and show them that you're hardworking and goal oriented"

"Ricoh is a huge company and there's lots of red tape to get things done"

"Streamline decision making and include each department manager in all decisions"
