The hardest thing working for a non profit is not the lower salary. It's the resources to meet the needs of the organization. It's very difficult as funding is low to keep the I.T. department running as close to 100 percent efficient as possible."
"I like the amount of the control. I get to decide what gets done and it what order, etc. The bad part is amount of responsibility that you have. It can be stressful and demanding at times. Also, for me personally, I prefer programming to IT work, so the fact that it is an IT director position isn't the most exciting thing for me."

"I was giving inadequate resources to complete some of the tasks required. When major problems were resolved, little to zero feedback from the president. My boss was fired one month into working for the company."

"Stay away from the politics, this company likes to be very secretive and then blast things out of nowhere when letting people go."

"They were cheap and late payers. I took the brunt of the abuse from our vendors"

"Pay your bills on time. We lost numerous good vendors because we were dropped from having credit with them"
