"Low pay and low chance for advancement at Dillard's."

What do you like about working at Dillard's?

"Dillard's has a nice product line, clean well-lit store, and nice employee. I like the discounts on clothes."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Dress well for the interview. Be warm and inviting during the interview."

What don't you like about working at Dillard's?

"I don't like the low pay and poor management, overall. There are no background checks on employees, no lunch breaks on Sundays, and almost no chance for advancement. Management is overworked and understandably took it out on employees at times."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stay only for your management experience and then move on."

What do you like about working at Dillard's?

"It's encouraged to continue to grow as a professional sales person and move up in the company through promotions. The environment is laid back but at the same time, everyone who works at Dillard's is well-trained and knows there are expectations to be professional and work hard."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The most important things are showing that you are outgoing, hardworking, and most of all, if you can sell yourself to management and get hired, then you can do the job."

What don't you like about working at Dillard's?

"There is a lot of favoritism, and management typically does not follow up on schedule changes, rewards for events, etc. Management leads by negative reinforcement. Almost all employees complain about something involving Dillard's every day, and sales goals are most of the time impractical and seem far above attainable."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There would be a higher level of follow-through on things like promised rewards for contests and events. Management would be fully cross-trained and employees would be better trained on all products in their department, rather than just their area of responsibility. There would be updated registers and equipment, and there would be more attention give to the overall attitude of the employees."

What do you like about working at Dillard's?

"At Dillard's, I enjoy helping customers and giving them a great shopping experience."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"They want to hear nothing else but that you are driven to make your sales and you are all about getting that customer to spend."

What don't you like about working at Dillard's?

"The sales per hour thing makes everyone so competitive they become backstabbers and end up stalking the customers to get that sale. It's a place where if you don't make your sales then you're fired or your wages are deducted. Dillard's has made a very hostile work environment. There is a lot of drama on who stole whose sales."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Reviews should not only reflect on your sales per hour, but on how you maintain your workspace. This store is a pigsty."
