"The top management at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs in Long Beach do not treat their employees with respect and dignity. My best Supervisor at the VA had retired on March 31, 2020. After She retired the new Supervisor was a tyrant, abrasive, obnoxious, and arrogant to the employees under him. The top three management treated the employees in the same way."
"I have worked at the DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN AFFAIRS for 1.5 years. It is a great place to work and they really care about the Veterans."
"Excellent very easy to apply keep up good work"
"good company ,you can learn a lot and working environment was very nice."
"It's a poorly run organization, "lead" (if one uses the term loosely) by political appointees with little field experience. Communication is horrible, human resources are dysfunctional, and the overall culture is dismal."
"the job was ok and used peripherals to get providers to read documents"
"Great company, great people but there is a clear need of an infusion of new and innovative ideas."
"I've worked with Long Island University's Student Veteran's Resource Center. The resource center is a great work environment that is constantly encouraging and improving the school environment towards student veterans on campus. The resource center also provides great opportunities for veterans both in and outside of the campus to ensure that veterans are transitioning back to the civilian lifestyle."
"Working for our Veterans is great, but with the HR Department going to a National Department, work is a bit more problematic."
"This company has great benefits!"
"I would not recommend this job."
"I've worked for the VA for 5 years. Management uses you up and once they can't use you anymore they try to get rid of you. Consistently understaffed and HR is in no hurry to fill vacant positions. Since I have worked at the VA we have had 6 hospital directors."
"I m interested in software development and maintenance. I'd like an opportunity for a skilled job."
"The VA has a very good system to work in with very good benefits, comparable pay with raises each year."
"Good place to work for. It is nice."
