"Great company to work for. Amazing work environment. The Department of Corrections has an amazing work environment and you get to help people every day. The benefits are good. Vacation time, good medical benefits, and overtime whenever you want it. I really do not have any complaints about the Department of Corrections."
"I would like to skip this"
"I've worked at this company for about a year and a half. So far the people I have had the privilege of working with have been incredibly helpful and supportive. The position itself was steady and secure. It was overall a positive experience."
"Good place to work with excellent benefits."
"I've worked for the Department of Corrections for 5 years. The leadership in OIT is very encouraging and supportive. They push us to pursue trainings and to challenge ourselves."
"Great place. As with many Florida state jobs, you typically have to switch agencies to get a promotion."
"Take a lot of time away from your family, a lot of added stress as well. Pay is not on par with the responsibilities of the job."
"Cover Letter Date: January 24, 2020 I maintain a Bachelors of Science in Information Systems and a Masters Degree in Education. I have supported many different computer platforms and Window operating systems. I also have good customer service and communication skills. I work well with IT groups or independently. I am ready to work immediately and able to relocate. I look forward to meeting and managing your business goals, and looking forward to a interview. Thank you Arthur Guerrero"
"Working for corrections was pretty good due to the benefit of moving up in the company."
"I have been working for a state penitentiary for about the past 9 years. The experience was an eye-opener and taught me many things about the quality of people and how their current situation in life does not determine the type of person they truly are."
"It is a Maximum Security Prison, not much I can really say. Decent pay, good benefits."
"I worked for MDOC for eight months from May 2013 to January 2014. It was quite the experience and I learned a lot in the ways of physical security. The job itself was a bit dangerous and could use a bit more state funding as training is a mere three weeks long which for many with no security or combat experience is not long enough, considering you are guarding violent offenders."
"I worked for this company for temporary project length of 3 months. It was specific to third party tools integration for SharePoint. I did not see much anticipated work being done or planned for the project to be completed successfully, lack of governance and scope of the project never being defined as it's required."
"The GDC needs to take better care of their employees. The pay does not equate to the mental and physical stress of the job."
"I have worked with the Folsom State Prison for almost 3 years. Since working there, I have gained invaluable experience as a phlebotomist under the most trying of circumstances. Working with inmates, patients, has taught me to be very detailed and focused on what I am doing at all times. At no time have ever felt in danger, as most might think, in fact I have thoroughly enjoyed working there and would recommend to anyone that the prison system is a good place to gain experience."
