What do you like about working at Denver Art Museum?

"I love art. I love having an interesting job. People who shape the worlds culture come to my place of work to give lectures and I love having a first hand view of who they are. I need to feel like I am a part of the world. I am not one to be happy going to a 9 to 5 job, dinner, then bed--proceed to next identical day. I need excitement."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This is a good hobby job. If you have other income to live on, this job is for you. If you expect nothing, you will be rewarded greatly."

What don't you like about working at Denver Art Museum?

"No benefits. They don't hire full time to get around this. I work 38 hours per week and hardly make enough to cover rent. I can't enjoy life, because I can't afford to do anything, i.e. pay for anything. I want a dog and I am too poor to get one. I feel marginalized and helpless. I am home sick right now and I have to wait through the holiday weekend to fill out State Indigent Health Care forms to be seen by a doctor at a much further date. Oh, and I receive full food stamps benefits. This job is humiliating. I do not make enough money for one adult to live modestly and the stress is making my body sick."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Instead of having people work 38 hours per week, hire people full time, with benefits, and pay at least a living wage. I bring in more money in memberships in one month than they will pay me all year. I still have to pay for my eco-pass. I am the only person who has sold a $1200 membership on sight and I was not monetarily rewarded, just patted on the back. In fact, my pay check was less than what it should have been that pay cycle."
